| Author Profile | ELIZABETH GEORGE Holding a master's degree in counseling/psychology and an honorary doctorate of humane letters, Elizabeth George has run the gamut of teaching experience?from being fired along with 10 other teachers for union activity, to being honored as Teacher of the Year for her work with remedial students. After 13-and-a-half years in education, she left to pursue a writing career after her first novel, A Great Deliverance, was published. George has won the Anthony Award, the Agatha Award and France's Le Grand Prix de Literature Policiere for A Great Deliverance, which also earned nominations for the EdgarŽ and the Macavity awards. Most of her novels have been filmed for television by the BBC and have been broadcast in the U.S. on PBS' Mystery. Titles by This Author
