Best known as the author of Jurassic Park and the creator of ?ER,? the late Michael Crichton left an indelible mark not just on the science fiction and techno-thriller genres, but on popular culture as a whole. An indefatigable writer with an uncanny ability to turn exotic scientific concepts into page-turning plot points, he tackled a wide range of topics in his novels, from an extraterrestrial epidemic in The Andromeda Strain and quantum physics and time travel in Timeline to chaos theory and DNA in his Jurassic Park books and nanotechnology in Prey.
