Author Profile
| KATE JACOBS
The central theme of The Friday Night Knitting Club, the first of Kate Jacobs?s endearing books, is the stitching together of relationships that endure, and it resonated with readers. The popularity of Knit Two, followed by Comfort Food testifies to the appeal of this author who grew up in a town near Vancouver, British Columbia, called, not surprisingly, Hope. Earning a masters degree from NYU put Jacobs in a position to break into magazine publishing, which was her goal. But building a surrogate family in the big city led her to novels, where she could write more intimately about the bonds of friendship between women. Today she lives in Southern California with her husband, her lively Springer Spaniel, Baxter?and, of course, her knitting projects. Titles by This Author
