His own culinary education began in London and France, respectively studying under Marco Pierre White and Joël Robuchon. In 1993, Ramsay became chef at the newly opened Aubergine; within 3 years, it was awarded 2 Michelin stars. In 1998 he opened his own restaurant, Gordon Ramsay, which went on to win 3 stars.
