| FELIPE FERNANDEZ-ARMESTO
An award-winning historian of the Age of Exploration, Felipe Fernández-Armesto has written about Columbus, the naming of America and the complicated process by which the Old World came to grips with the New. He is the Asturias Professor of History at Tufts University and the winner of the Cairo Medal, the John Carter Brown Medal, and the Premio Nacional de Investigación of Spain?s Sociedad Geográfica Española.
